ABOUT ROD
Meet Rod
Rod Woodland is co-owner of the Woodland Gallery, a seasoned freelance visual artist, and a competition-winning photographer who also has a passion for life modeling.
In recent years, Rod has posed for prestigious art institutions such as the Corcoran School of Art and the Washington Studio School as well as for well-known artists. Additionally, he has posed for art education courses in nude figurative painting, drawing, and sculpture for highly respected private art instructors based in London, New York City, and Washington DC.
In 2016, Rod combined his artistry, photography, and modeling talents at the Soho Photo Gallery in New York City, where he presented a thematic series of self-photographs in a competition-winning effort, besting entrants from 12 different countries and opening up more opportunities to model and mentor future life models.
He has extensive experience collaborating with other visual artists, which includes offering his selection of unique self-photography for rendering as sculptures, oil paintings, drawings, and in other art mediums.
Over the last 20 years, Rod (Instagram: @lifemodelrw) has created a distinctively fascinating avant-garde portfolio of imagery he’s proud to present to the world -- reminiscent of his favorite sculptor, François Auguste René Rodin.
At present, Rod resides in Bernalillo County, NM, where he is continuing his visual arts career as well as searching out
in-person life modeling opportunities with artists and art institutions, particularly in the Southwest region. He is also available to do life modeling online via Zoom.
